Daniel Yeager, USA
Dan Yaeger is founder and principal of Yaeger Communications, a
marketing firm specializing in economic development and travel
industry marketing since 1988. Since that time, he has served more
than 75 clients representing a variety of industry categories
including financial services, real estate, high technology, retail,
hospitality, culture, manufacturing, and professional services. His
client experience includes creation of destination planning programs
for cities, towns, and regions including the Blackstone River Valley
National Heritage Corridor and other destinations throughout the
U.S. and abroad.
Mr. Yaeger has also served as director of museums and other
non-profit organizations. His experience includes several years of
directing the administration and market research of the “Spirit of
Massachusetts” state promotion campaign for the Massachusetts Office
of Travel and Tourism, direction of the “Discover the Merrimack”
marketing effort for Lowell and the Merrimack Valley in
Massachusetts, and direction of the Massachusetts Tourism Coalition,
the state’s private, non-profit visitor industry association.
Mr. Yaeger helped pioneer “The Art of Partnering,” developing
cooperative marketing campaigns for travel destinations and cultural
businesses. His work in this area has influenced tourism marketing
efforts throughout New England, the U.S., the United Kingdom and
Australia. He has developed programs in sustainable tourism,
eco-tourism, agri-tourism, and cultural heritage tourism.
Mr. Yaeger has been a member of the Travel Industry Association
of America, American Association of Museums, International
Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus, National Trust for
Historic Preservation, Meeting Planners International, American
Society of Association Executives, Society of Incentive Travel
Executives, National Tour Association, American Bus Association,
American Marketing Association, and the Advertising Club of Greater
Boston.
In addition to his marketing background, Mr. Yaeger is a
commercial artist and copywriter, with credits in Yankee Magazine,
Boston Globe Magazine, Industry Magazine, Museum News, World Monitor
Magazine, Boston Business Journal, St. Louis Business Journal, and
other publications.
Mr. Yaeger holds an undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College,
earned his master’s degree from Harvard University, and is currently
a fellow at Brown University’s John Nicholas Brown Center for the
Study of American Civilization.
